Fennel Recipes

Fennel features a crisp, whitish green bulb topped by feathery green fronds. It has a distinct licorice-like flavor that mellows when cooked. All parts are edible. You can use fennel raw in salads, or it can be roasted, braised or sautéed.

Store fennel unwashed in the refrigerator, placing the bulb and fronds in separate plastic bags. Wrap the bulb in a paper towel, and add a slightly damp paper towel to the fronds.
