Farmer Apprenticeship Opportunities

Are you interested in small-scale farming, market gardening, or homesteading? Would you like to learn how to grow your own food or start your own farm? Consider apprenticing with an experienced Rowan County farmer!

Bread Riot is partnering with several local farmers to offer hands-on apprenticeships, starting in spring 2026. The “Grow a Farmer” program will be limited to three to four persons who are serious about implementing these practices in their own life. Apprenticeships will be 15 weeks, working and learning on the farm for 20 hours per week, or can be tailored to your needs and interests. Farmers will pay apprentices an hourly wage. Must be at least 18 years old to apply.
