Bulk Meat Purchase Winter 2012

We are excited about the interest and enthusiasm over our latest meat share offering! Every share is taken, which is great news for the program. It is always easier to find participating farms when we have great people to connect them to. If you don't want to miss the next round, please sign up for Bread Riot emails to receive notifications. Just provide your email address in the "Join our mailing list" box in the top right corner of the page.

Click "Read More" below for details on the pickup.

The pick up date for both beef and pork is the same: Thursday, Feb. 2nd, at 6:30pm at Maria and Jack Thomson’s house at the corner of Jackson and Horah St. (mustard color house with a garage in the back where the pick-up will be), rain or shine. If that date/time presents a conflict, please email Capri at This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. to coordinate another time. Though, of course, I encourage you to make this time work if you can as we have limited freezer space available to store shares that are not picked up.

Beef:
Circle D is is supplying our beef for this purchase. Each share will be about 40-42 lbs ea. The price is $6/lb, so the total share price will be $240-252, plus $15 admin fee to BR, = $255 - $267. Less the deposit that you made, the final amount will be calculated at pick-up, since each share varies slightly in weight. But you can except to have your final amount due to be around $200 if your deposit was $50.

Pork:
Bame Farms will be supplying our pork for this purchase. The price is approx. $4.50/lb. and Bame Farms has created a custom box for us to give us a wider variety of cuts and allow us to have shares around 31lbs each. These ‘boxes’ are slightly different, in that each one is a flat price, so there will be no variance by weight. The total cost is $155 , including the BR admin fee, less whatever deposit you have made. For 3 of the boxes, there was a shortage of one shoulder roast; Bame would like to offer pork chops as a substitute or an IOU of sorts when they have shoulder roasts back in stock. If you have a preference, and would like to reserve one of the three boxes with an additional pork chop package instead of a shoulder roast, please email me. Otherwise, we will discuss at pick-up for those boxes.
