Landis Gourmet Mushrooms is located in the basement of an old cotton mill that sat vacant for years. We grow three strains of oyster mushrooms; Golden, Tree and Pheonix with plans to add Shiitake mushrooms in the future. Our mushrooms are grown year round on waste cotton that is supplied by a still operating cotton mill. They are grown as naturally as possible considering they grow on trees in the wild and we're producing indoors on cotton. Pesticides and fertilizers are not allowed on our farm! This type of farming is fairly new in North Carolina so research, trial and error, and more research is on going. However, we are growing them and having the time of our lives! Oyster mushrooms are an amazing and very nutritious food source and we are blessed to be able to offer them to our community. If you are a mushroom lover or haven't ever tried them we think you'll be very pleased with our gorgeous, delicious mushrooms. We sell our mushrooms at the local farmers markets . We'll be glad to show you around and of course sell ya some oyster mushrooms!
