Genesis Farms is a small natural and sustainable farm located in southern Rowan County. We employ only natural, and sustainable cultural practices and use only 100% certified organic seed. We use no chemical fertilizers.Our soil is the good 'ol red stuff and is very fertile naturally.We use no chemical pesticides, or herbicides.Weed control is achieved through tillage, and smother crops. Insect control is achieved primarily through beneficial insects. We incorporate green manure cover crops and composted manures for added soil tilth and fertility. We offer a wide variety of organic vegetables, and have a booth at the Salisbury Farmers market every Saturday. We routinely have customers who will give us a call and stop by to pick up a box of vegetables. We will have "cool weather crops" available in late September such as turnip greens, mustard greens, beets, cabbage, chard, etc. We employ agricultural practices that are environmentally, socially, and economically durable for years to come.
